Another week and another bout of crap, cold, messy weather.

I've come to realize that I wash my MINI a lot - no really, A LOT! It was just washed (no-touch only so far) again.

All the MINI colours look great clean and shiny. The paint is of good quality. If you see a clean MINI (in any of the colours) in a parking lot otherwise full of dingy, grey and dirty cars, you can't help but give it a second or third look. They're so great clean.

A lot of you live in areas of the country that have had pretty rotten weather over the past couple of weeks. I've managed to wash my LY/B MCS more than the average car owner. The test is my office staff of 18. Only my MINI is usually clean. Nobody cares to push the limits of how long their car will remain clean - except me!

Yep - a clean MINI is something to see - especially in the near-dead of winter. Especially in Canada!

I'm glad to hear someone else has feels that way. I was beginning to wonder about Laurie's obsession with keeping Smiley clean.

Agent Cooper is due for his first bath. Picked him up Monday and he now has 5 days worth of salt on him. A friend told me to be very careful of the black paint, as it takes longer to cure than other colors (is this true?). So I will be doing a do-it-yourself wash job in our frigid Chicago temps either tomorrow or Sunday. Brrrrrr!

I wash my MINI AT LEAST once a week yet it is STILL dirty 6 days a week with the crappy cold weather here in NJ. It sucks. I pay a fortune to wash it and actually by the evening of the same day the back is already filthy. Then with all of the salt still on the roads, the rest of him is dirty within about 2 days.

Somebody needs to invent a MINI "baby wipe" that can be used to clean up its back side. It certainly seems to get dirty much faster than the rest of the car.

It is amazing that most Mini's that you see look like they have just had a bath. Must imply that we owners are fanatics about keeping our favorite toys clean. [code:1:5f13a279c4] [/code:1:5f13a279c4]

greatgro: I love the new "colour changing MINI" in your sig.

Very special. Can you flip the roof colour as well, and have disappearing stripes??

I dont konw how many others actually got these, but MINI sent me a "Unnofficial Motoring Handbook". Somewhere in the book, it says that the MINI owner should not obsess about the cleniness of the car. A dirty mini is simple proof that adequate motoring is taking place, sort of like battle scars and such. A very entertaining tidbit, the book had many amazingly queer statments that I found to be remarkebly true.

P.S. I also obsess about keeping my mini clean, but in the wonderful months of november-feburary i clean give up.

I've never washed any other car as much as this one.... But I have to admit that I've gotten really frustrated because of all the grime - just like greatgro describes. I wash it, and later the same day it is already an absolute mess. I'm letting Molly go longer and longer between washes now... So far, 3 weeks has been the longest. I feel so guilty, but at the same time it seems so pointless.

One thing, you don't notice the brake dust as much when the rest of the car is all yucky.

Go ahead. Let the tongue lashings begin. I deserve it. I've been a bad parent.

I don't understand everyone's problem....here in California the only thing that collects on our MINI is the dust from parking it in the garage overnight. What's all this about cold/wet weather?
