Your answer was NOT an answer to that question ... basically, your response hijacks the thread. You said:
"I enjoy my Cooper S, but I can't wait to sell it and get an Evo or an STi. Then I'll have kick-*** handling AND speed."
I didnt ask nor do I care about what you "want" to buy nor did I ask anything about "kick-*** ... speed". Maybe you care about that but ... duh ... not everyone.
Bottom line, you didn't answer the question, you just trolled.

They aren't. And if that makes me troll, well in my mind, that makes you dumb.
I own a Mini. So no, I'm not a troll, merely a realist. Thanks.
And what hijacking went on here? If you hadn't cared to make a smart-*** response to me, then there'd have been no hijacking. You hijacked your own thread. Well done.
39th car
my MCS is my 39th car in this lifetime-and-not only is it a 10 plus when i return to it in the parking lot, my garage, whereever-i get a big old grin every time i open the door and see the inside as well!! i love this car!
Parking
10 of course.
The only time I felt this good about a car was my first one, 67 1800s. I actually think about the joy in driving home while I'm at work.
As far as parking in lots or parking in general, I follow a few set of rules that I put together.
1. Try to park either at the end or beginning stall, or any stall that does not have a spot directly next to it. My favorite spots are the ones next to concrete pillars. These stalls have a lot more space.
2. Park next to pricey cars, like BMW or Lexus, or brand new cars. New cars generally don't have license plates. These owners care for their cars almost as much as we do
3. Never park next buicks, dirty 4 wheel drives, or any car with some sort of government agency logo like caltrans or ebmud.
4. For street parking, and you cannot park in a driveway, park only in spots where one end of the car will not be exposed to another car. For example, a spot next to a drive way, or the end of a curb. Avoid parallel parking spots that require other cars to park in front and in back. An excellent spot would be a two car spot with the rear spot open. If you park there, the other driver simply pulls away to drive.
5. Be kind and curteous to other people who park on the same street. They will remember your car and be extra careful.
6. Do not take up two spaces with your car. People hate that. I've seen a 'local' car do this a couple times until somebody slashed ALL their tires.

You STILL haven't answered the question. If your not going to answer, why bother everyone else?

End of story. People buy Minis for a million different reasons, but I'm tired of reading about how they're the best handling cars out there. They aren't. If you don't like that, that's too bad, and calling me a troll won't change the truth.
To "answer the question", I'll phrase it as an answer to the initial question in this thread.
An eight. I enjoy my Mini but won't be sorry when I hand over the keys to the dealer when I pick up my Evo or STi.
That's not "trolling". In fact, I think you need to look up that definition, in the "normal sense".
Thanks.
Me too!!!!
I only park far away from others. Two years of ownership in SoCal and not one door ding! Everyone laughs at me nut I'm still smiling as I drive!

I always park as far away from anybody as I can so it's always a long walk before I am satisfied.
I guess I must like my car a lot.:smile::smile:

When out shopping I park at the far end of the lot and enjoy the walk back because I can have more time to look at my MCS. I give it a 10+.
I am fortunate enough to be able to park my MCS right outside my window at work and can gaze upon it anytime I want all day long. Sometimes I will park head in, sometimes I will back in so I can enjoy a different view.
Getting in to go for a drive or just to move it 10 - 20m always put a smile on my face.

Haven't got mine yet :impatient (still scheduled for production), but I admire just about every Mini I meet in a parking lot - I usually still stop and take them fully in - most deserving a 10 on looks alone. I can't imagine how I will feel when I finally meet mine!

If I find a well modified Silver Elise parked next to my Mini, might have a problem

In any case, its like when you come out to a parking lot, from the mall, from the grocery store, from work, etc. and you see the car your driving home ... the mere fact that you get to drive THAT car home, how does it make you feel on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 the best). If people used that scale when they buy a new car, it might make their decisions a lot easier.
When I see the MINI, I think 10 and 1/2!
You?

As far as parking next to luxury or new cars, they could leave as soon as you walk into the store, and a royal sh&t-box could come backfiring along and take the spot.
Best to find the undesirable spot--where people have to walk through a puddle or have to push a cart through gravel or something. If someone has to walk a long way around a hedge or fence to go into the store, they won't want to park out there.
Also, and this is critical, I suggest you park up the incline if the store parking lot isn't level. That way, loose shopping carts won't roll, blow, or get knocked uphill into your car--they'll all collect along the bottom of the lot up against the non-walkers' cars.
