Am I the only one that read the part of the manual re: the computers' calculation of the mpg? It states that it does not take into account gas accumulated while stopped and idling. So, the more traffic/stoplights you hit, the greater the delta in calculating your MPG by the tank/fill-up vs. the computer.

I didn't say it makes sense, but it probably explains a lot of the experiences mentioned here.

I guess MINI didn't want to have skewed reports from folks in big cities vs. rural areas!

Well I can't speak for the MCS as mine has yet to arrive, but my wifes Subaru gauge is the same way. It will stay at full for about 125 miles and then start to rapidly drop. I think that this is fairly normal nowadays...
