Mini moans on LSD

Sounds like the LSD on my MCS likes to make a moaning noise when I start out at a slight turn. This is most noticeable right after startup when the car is cold.
After warm-up, it seems to go away.
I dont consider this to be a problem... Once the fluild comes up to operating temps and everything has a chance to expand under operating temps, the noises settle down.

I do get what seems to sound like bearing noise during turns. The car just seems louder when turning and the noise comes from the front end. May just be the noise of the tires suspension are being transferred up the struts to the body and being amplified. Not sure yet.. but it seems to be normal.... Anyone else notice this?

Have the sound...hope it is normal. If not, then I hope it breaks within the warranty period!

Heard it, Have it. There are a couple threads discussing this on the Beneath the Bonnet board. Noone really knows what it is.

noise

Had this same noise took it to the dealer found out that the 2005 mini S was the first year that used a limited slip differential. the trans fluid needs to be changed with a different type of fluid to fix the noise when making turns.

I have it too esp when cold...but honestly didnt know I had a LSD from the factory? How can you tell? I always thought it was my H-Sport Camber plates but sounds like that is not the case.
