This is cool!

Last night I was wandering around a local toy store (called MasterMind). I came upon a box of 1/36 diecast MINIs with pull-back motors. 12 cars in the box - 6 different colours (including a god-awful orange!!).

I bought the full box. Wouldn't you? $60 bucks Canadian (maybe $35 U.S).

Next year's Xmas gifts for my redneck relatives on Wolfe Island, Ontario.

This past Xmas I took My Sharona to the Island. The MINI was a standout. They'd never seen or heard of a MINI before in redneck Canada! Can you imagine their looks and comments - until we went for a ride on the Island's twistys! Jaw dropping experience for most of them.

Next year - they all get a MINI!!

Wow.. Wolfe Island looks beautiful! Someone should schedule a MINI Meet on Wolfe Island, and invade them with tons of MINIS! Your picture was really great too!

A MINI Meet on Wolfe Island?

Great idea - and the island is accessed from both Canada and the U.S. It sits in the middle of the St. Lawrence Seaway between Kingston and the U.S., right in the middle of the Thousand Islands.

The perfect time would be the 1st weekend in August. That's the weekend that the Island holds its annual ball tournament. 26 teams, each an island family. Hundreds of people return to the Island from various places in Canada and the US to play. (The official ball is the size of your head - so no major league wannabe's need apply!!).

What a great time to introduce Island culture to dozens of MINIs. We could plan a "Parade Of The MINIs" down Main Street (actually, the only real street - it pretty much circles the Island). The parade could be led by one of the local's horse drawn buggies. (He's formerly the Car Ferry Captain, so he's a BMOC!).

(Island roads are ripe for rally).

Alright, who'll sign up for the first Wolfe Island Canada MINI Meet?

BMW Canada - wanna throw some sponsorship dollars at this very worthwhile, sure to be international, event?? Huh? Eh?
