They should seriously consider bringing them to US.

 

I had a 1983 Mercedes 300 turbodiesel a few years ago. At first, I found it frustrating that not all stations sold diesel, but you very quickly learn which ones do and the hassle disappears rather quickly. You even learn how to spot them from a distance by the green signs. . . .

I'd love a turbo diesel MINI!

 

I guess I should clarify...I like the idea of a fuel-efficient MINI, even if it is down on power a bit. Wouldn't bother me a bit. A One D is the current MINI offering in that category. If another MINI variant came along...I'd be all over that, too. Even so, I have been very pleasantly surprised at my Cooper's fuel efficiency given the current state of things here in the US, along with the fact that I'm quite literally surrounded by SUVs 85% of the time. Very satisfying. I'm not holding my breath on the One D here, but a I am watching the new engines for '07 for progress on this front. We'll see...

 

if i could get one for about 15 grand out the door over here, i might be interested. whats the base on a One? isnt it like 13 usd and the One D is 15?
