Service experience at Bob Smith BMW/Mini
Had my 1st service done today at Bob Smith Mini. Besides the usual I also brought in a list of about 8 things that I wanted adjusted fixed. Since their Mini SA was not available, one of their BMW helped me out. Thanks Phillip, the service was excellent.
They reprogrammed some of my options free of charge ?!
. My doors now unlock on ignition off. Unfortunately low fuel sound ding is not an option on my make.
They adjusted my windshield wipers. Realigned my boot lid (a common problem on the convertibles). I can actually feel the difference opening and closing it. What I though was a loose seat belt housing turned out to be a loose door latch, which also got fixed. The squeaky top got lubed and is now whisper quiet.
They have also ordered the missing trim piece and the motor for the skipping quarter window.
And here is some news for you convertible owners with scratched up quarter windows, like myself. The Mini rep was at the dealership today and here is what was relayed to me by the SA:
"BMW/Mini is aware of the problem. They have identified improperly designed moldings as the culprits. As soon as a replacement molding is available, they will be notifying convertible owners to have both the moldings and the window glass replaced"
Overall, I am extremely satisfied. I usually don't expect much from dealers, so this was a surprising and a pleasant experience.
