New Member with new MINI

I'm a new member and I bought this Mini three weeks ago. I started out looking for something that was good on gas and was fun to drive! I have many cars, (02 ZO6 Vette, (2) 33 Ford hot rods, and a 4 x 4 truck) This Mini is such a blast to drive, I don't have to explain it to all of you, you understand. Some of my Vette and rod friends just don't get it!!! The one's that have driven it GET IT!!!! This forum has helped me learn so much in just three weeks.......Thanks all....................Les

You non-JCW folks need to learn to pay close attention to the front grille... after noticing the JCW wheels, the grille was the first place I looked. Yep, Works badge. :smile:

Hey MinLes - next you have to get the JCW brakes & suspension. Trust me, it's well worth it. JCW strut brace coming out any day now too.

... and the strut brace, MinLes... but didn't realize you had the suspension (almost impossible to tell without looking up under the wheel well).

Very impressive though! :smile:

MinLes,

I just realized something - how is it that you have the JCW suspension? It has only been released for coupes, not convertibles. I even spoke with Jeff from MINIUSA in person about this, at MINIs On The Dragon last weekend. He had a fully loaded JCW MCSC there on display, and he explained why the JCW suspension wasn't available for convertibles. Basically, there are varying configurations and spring rates depending on the installed features. Since there will only be a limited number of JCW suspension kits sold, they had to make a decision, and supporting twice as many configurations (to include convertibles) was not feasible.

Perhaps your suspension upgrade is aftermarket? Either that or the dealer installed a JCW kit designed for the coupe, against the wishes of MINIUSA?

It sounds like you looked at the picture wrong. It's not a cabrio...

LOL OOPS!

<open mouth, insert foot>

Thanks for setting me straight, ThomB. I'm one very embarrassed JCW MCS owner now.

I think it was the white roof with the white garage door behind it that threw me off. Heh.
