Has anyone had any MINI calling-cards made? I saw a thread on another website that had one. It had a pic of a MINI, the "let's motor" slogan, various website addys on it (ie miniusa.com, minicooperonline.com,) and the Screen name of the person who gave it out. So, if you saw a MINI parked somewhere, you could slip it under the wiper for the owner.
The more I have thought about this, the more I want to do this. In the area of Florida I am in, I have seen at least 5 minis, and none of them are on the various sites, (as far as I can tell.)

So far I'd need 2 cards!

But I like the idea of the note from one MINI owner to another!!! Perhaps after I get my MINI I'll print up something on my home computer that has a photo of my computer, my name, my MINI's name, area of town I live in, See you motoring, Let's Motor, etc... This is a neat idea!

I made my own. I took a picture of the car and imported it to a "business card" using Print Shop. I put a note on it with my name and my wife's name on it and our phone number to call if they were interested in getting together to talk about MINI's or take a Saturday ride to give us a call. Only problem is there are few MINI's in my area and while I have a supply of the cards in the car I have not been able to use them yet. I will it is just a matter of time.
I also make my own front license plates depending on the holiday or season.

MINI Cooper S-Dark Silver Metallic-Sport, Premium, Cold pkgs

I've noticed that not everyone is as enthusiastic about there MINI as some of us are. I've asked a few people that I have seen if they are on minicooperonline etc and they just look at me with a blank stare.

I see a MINI every now and then, some are receptive to the wave, the peace sign or they can't be bothered. could just be LA.

This sounds like the same concept as ham or CB radio operators who give out CQ cards (I think I've got the name right). Back in the 60's my dad was big into CB and had cards he gave out. They were about 4" x 6", much bigger than a business card. His design included a logo, call sign, and other pertinent info. I remember the logo very well...it was an alien peeking out of a bubble on the top of his flying saucer.

I ususally hang around until the person comes
and gets back in their car. I guess that makes me
a Mini stalker. Actually, I only see the same one
and I already talked to the owner and told him about
MCOL and pointed out to him that his coolant
recovery tank was leaking. (An S of course)

Yes! I love the MINI-calling card idea. I believe it was Smokey 4 that started doing this distribution in North Carolina. I'm in L.A. and whilst out motoring today, we saw at least 10 MINIs throughout the town!!

Cheers!

Where is the coolant tank again and how do I know if it's leaking?

Thanks.

I think the "MINI Calling Cards" are a great idea. Here's where we can go to get them made online, cheaply - and if someone wants to take the time, set up a template for all of us to use - maybe even with a place for an image of our own MINI: VistaPrint

I've used VistaPrint for business cards unique to some of our web sites. It's a good service, fairly priced, with quick turnaround.

Only one BIG failing on their part: It's not Mac compatible. And I'm a Mac fanatic - so it irks me. When I use VistaPrint I have to use a PC in our office. That sucks - but the cards come out nice!

The calling card is a great idea, in our area the Vancouver Mini Cooper Club has had some printed to publicize the club. Even if the person receiving a card on their windshield doesn't become a member they can at least know there is an active group operating, just in case they ever felt like joining us on a Sunday afternoon drive.

This is an AWESOME idea...what about in HTML format? editable in whatever program you see fit? I know I could do something that would print perfect on biz card stock you get at staples...hmmm

Well, I did it. I got on my computer and made some pretty sweet cards. It was fairly simple to do, using Print Shop. I printed them out on card stock, and used my first one today!! A brand new IB Cooper was spotted...so it got one of my cards  I tried to include an image of it on here...but I couldn't get it to work. <sigh> Oh well!!

Thanks, guys!! Yes, I printed it on my printer. Its the size of a normal business card. Like I said, I used Print Shop and just used one of their Business Card formats to design what I wanted. Really simple.
