R50/53 Is the mini the wright car for me?
I found a mini on ebay that had "Buy It Now" for 6,000, and it was up to 100 dollars. I was going nuts because I found one that I could afored.
So I got off the internet and when I got back on and it said that it was taken off becuse of a mistake when posting.
I new it was to good to be true

lol. When you see something that good, ask yourself "what is wrong with it?"
As for the statements about driving ability, they are partly true. You shouldnt buy a sporty car if you dont have driving experience. There is too much of a likelyhood of pushing the car too far and getting hurt (or killed). From what i have read, you seem knowledgable about cars and seem responsible enough to drive something sporty.
And to address the thoughts about grammar and spelling; there is no correlation between spelling and driving skill. I know people who have dropped out of high school but are some of the best drivers i have ever seen. Hell, most of the NASCAR league falls into this catagory.
Welcome to NAM 71camaro. Have fun with whatever car you decide to get!

I am still sad, it was a nice car Cooper S, Green Paint and black hood stripes
i love the BRG mini s. It is probably my second favorite color. Well, it is really too bad that didn't work out. Keep looking! Im sure that something will pop up. Even if you dont get a mini now, you can always buy one later. Ive been waiting for mine for the last 4 years. Im getting mine in a few months.
well, before i had my licence, even before i had my temps, i had my first car, a 73 Mustang Mach 1. that was a fun car, so was the car i owned after that, a 73 Challenger with a 440. both gas hogs, both under my parents names so i didnt have to pay a rediculous ammount of money for insurance. i know now to be more carefull when i'm driving. i had one accident when i was oh...16 1/2 or so. i pulled out into traffic and didnt pay attention and t boned a suv, nobody was hurt, i got some points on my licence, but i'm alot more carful now that ive experienced that. its a feeling you wont ever forget. the hit scares the crap out of you and then, sitting in the middle of the road, dazed because you cant believe what you just did actually happened, it changes the way you drive. dont learn the hard way, take it easy for a while...
as for what you sould get...
i'm able to make my payments on my mini, i only put 4500 down on a 21k 05 Mini and my payment is a little under 300 a month. i dont have much money for thing for myself anymore, but i have a nice car and i'm gonna be able to make it thru college now.
my top picks for you right now would be...
V6 mustang, camaro, firebird (4 banger fox body mustangs too)
if you can find one, a older subaru impreza RS would be nice (91-98)
and i know it sounds a bit rediculous, but i really enjoyed driving my 1991 dodge spirit. if you can find an R/T, they had a 5 speed turbo 4 and a 5 speed 6 cyl. version. it was a quick little car, but it sereved it duties for a long time, i only recently took it to the junkyard to have it crushed. that motor ran for damn near 200k miles and i only paid $1000
for it.
and if you dont like my grammar, i dont care
oh yeah, i forgot, i had a vette over the summer when i was 17, insane for a 17 year old, but i took my time and had no problems with it. did lose the tranny, but that wasnt my fault, it was broken when i bought it,m but i got 4 or 5 months of trouble free driving before i dsold it.

I will have to look at those cars.
The mustang is out if I got one of those than I think that my dad would disown me.
I would rather stay away from the camaro but if I found one that I liked than I might consiter it, same with the firebird.
And your spelling does not bother me I think everyone needs to get off the subject
Thanks for your input

i had an 81 (C3) black/black, cloth interior (leather was standard, cloth was optional) automatic, L81 350, TH350, power eveything. awsome car. after i got done, i had paid about $7800 for the car. it had to pass echeck, so i couldnt cut the exhaust off and replace with cherry bombs. for a 190 horse corvette, it was a blat to drive for a few months.....you get alot more attention from the opposite sex while driving one with the t tops off too!!

Keep hunting- somewhere the right car for you is out there somewhere.
I'm car hunting still.
I would just get a Mini but it's such a hassle. I either pay a mark up or go out of state... Screwed either way. Tomorrow I'm going to check out a Mini S that a dealer here is expecting with a 1.5 mark up brining it to 26,600.
Red/white with H/k, Premium, Auto and those red seats. I just don't want to pay that mark up! And the dealer is also unwilling to work the payments with me which makes me even more turned off.
But if they don't give us a good price tomorrow we're just going to go out of state. Have one made in either TX or OK and pick it up. Just sucks having to wait and all.
Other than the Mini I would consider the Mazda 3 SP23, or something. It's like the TC just better. But with every other car I consider the Mini beats them all when it comes to size and visibility.
I really want the small size as I suck when it comes to parking.

sorry for the late reply. yeh split bumper since i like the look but its a Z28 not a RS. I love the camaro (all 9 mpg of it) but it is not quite done yet. look into hagerty insurance the camaro is actually cheaper than the mini to insure. stated value full coverage great insurance company.
I am looking at a Mazda MX-6 the car is nice for $2000 and I think that I can get them to come down because there is a dent in it and the black is coming off the vinal seats, I love the seats in it so I would just recover them.
I am just not sure how much insurence would be on it, that could make me not want it, I am going to call the insurence company tommaro.
Thanks

The 93 Mazda MX-6 is out called the insurence company today.
$1200 every 6 months I had a 95 Ford Explore and was paying $500 every 6 months.

I suggest a early 90s Honda CRX. If you need something with a lot of power, this probably isn't for you but I think the handling is somewhat similar to the MINI. The amenities certainly aren't there though. The one I drove didn't even have power steering. You could probably get one in decent shape for around $3K. Plus, it shouldn't cost too much money to insure since its considered more of an econobox than a sports car. Good luck.
