R50/53 Renting a MINI in Vancouver, BC
Renting a MINI in Vancouver, BC
Will soon be travelling to Vancouver, BC and was checking to see if there are any places upthere that rent MINIs. I did a Google.com search and came up with this "MINI ONLY" car rental company:

Very cool website. I was actually pretty surprised to find an exclusive MINI rental place in Vancouver. Has anyone ever heard or rented a MINI from them?

We were looking for the same thing last fall. The rates from Viva were pretty high and at the time they were setup for daily rentals only. We wound up getting a MCS from Park Place rentals in Seattle for a week. Not cheap, but they did a good job and picked us up at the airport in the car. At drop-off, they have a shuttle bus back to the airport. The car was in good condition and we had a blast. We toured around Vancouver and Victoria.
Traveling outside the US was not a problem, but we did tell them up front we were doing it and made sure we had the correct paperwork. Coming back through the checkpoint, the Canadian immigration officer commented "thats a nice rental"...yes it is.

I live in the Vancouver area and I noticed a rental bumper sticker on a MINI recently. I think some of the major car rental chains are starting to purchase fleets of MINIs for rental now. I don't believe it was a Cooper S though.
In Canada, there is a Cooper with Classic package. Essentially a MINI Cooper without Xenons or ASC+T. Price of these fall in the range of normal fleet cars.
Try Budget, or Hertz or Tilden or one of the major companies and ask them. If they do have them, you may have to reserve them.
