R50/53 Does your Mini have a stablemate ?
Mine will share garage space with a 1984 Porsche 944 that I have owned for nine years, since I was sixteen, a 911 club racer, and a 71 Datsun Z-car. Fans of Minis road prowess should do themsleves a favor and give an older 944 a test drive. I have driven just about every type of sporsts car out there and 944s and Mini "S"s are on the top of my fun to drive list.
Grand cherokee Limited Black Fully loaded, and My Vulcan Motorcycle Burgundy, and in a few months after the restoration is over a 1967 Porsche 912. And looking for a clasic mini, just to match wi the new one...
My silver/black S shares space with my other joy, a 1968 pontiac firebird 400. Both are a blast to drive, but can you guess which one wallows like a pig on twisty roads? Still... its hard to beat the feeling of 475 horses (with NOS).
Well, my indigo blue/white roof & wheels cooper is getting a new stable mate this coming monday lunch time. A chilli red cooper s with all the extras. Any one else out there got 2 of these little belters ?
Our now on Order Pepper White with black roof MINI will be sharing space with my super reliable and fun to drive 15 month old 2001 Chevrolet Impala LS sedan. The Cooper will indeed be a nice addition to the Chevy!.

my dark silver S w/white will spend a week or so with the car it is replacing -- a 1973 2002 (Inka)with 310,000 faithful miles (both bought at the same dealer, but 29 yrs apart). I'm going to miss it, but am hoping to distract myself enough with the new Mini to put aside the many good memories of travels in the bimmer. The new Mini will have to learn to get along with a '99 Honda Oddysey because I can't get along without it. (a great van by the way if you ever need such)
Da mini is in the right house with a truimph tr3, tr6,( dad's) my mini pickup and classic mini, the jeep (wife)and the 1953 chevy pickup. So it will not be alone!!
Some nice cars you all have! Shows it's a real car site.

My MINI does not share my garage...the MINI gets the garage all to itself!
But My CHEVY SUBURBAN has been demoted to the driveway. MINI and Maxi!
I have five young kids...when I carry more than three I go Maxi,
but I always try to go MINI!

That is a great story, I too had a BMW 2002 it was a 1972 that I bought new when I returned from the service in Germany. I had so much fun driving that car, I never even had a radio installed in it.....just loved to hear that engine purr.....I drove it for 5 years and got what I paid for it on a trade for a 1977 320i. I was always disappointed with the newer Bimmer...it never was as much fun to drive as the 2002.
I'm hoping to recapture that fun with my Pepper White Cooper !!

A footnote to my tale is that I was on sabbatical leave in England for a semester in 1980 and decided to get a new BMW -- a 318i (factory delivery in Munich which is a BMW specialty with a tour of the factory, museum, etc.) which I drove over there and brought back. My initial thought was to sell the '73. But when I had them both together in Berkeley, I decided that I liked the '73 better and sold the '80.
We don't have a garage! (We live in an apartment.) But she will be sitting next to a '84 VW Rabbit GTi (completely redone.....it's a great car, too!) And maybe soon enough my boyfriend will put the money down for his own Mini!
Well, my Chili Red MINI with black roof (including sun/moon roof) will be sharing the garage with an Italian or Japanese companion: my orange 1974 Fiat Spyder or my yellow 1977 Toyota Celica GT Hatchback. So far, there have been no international incidents.
