These crazy gas prices are exactly why our Suburban has been sitting motionless in the garage for the past few weeks since we got the MCS now the beast is heading to an auto dealership tomorrow to be sold off. Let low mpg and high gas prices bother someone else for a while. I'll be tooling around in my mini having to much fun to care!

As long as we have cheap gas there is little or no incentive to develop alternate energy and transportation sources. The fact is clear we will run out of oil sometime, if not 30 years then 100 or whatever, which means we will have used up this vast resource in a relatively short period of time.

Of course, high gas prices hurt lower income people more, which is perhaps unfair, but there are all kinds of unfairness in this world. I don't mind paying more for gas now if it means a cleaner smarter world in the future! IMHO

Last June, on a trip through Death Valley, I came across this Shell station.

I bet they're at least over $4 right now!
