MINI Range Contest

ok, ok gather round chaps.

I just thought I'd start a contest to see who could get the LONGEST RANGE readout from your digital computers located in your tacho. (Another thread here gave me the idea).

You must post evidence of your claim, digital pic will do fine.

My best yet is 441 miles, and thats after driving for about 10 minutes lol.

Even though the pic quality isnt that good, it's readable.... It's kinda hard to take a macro pic and drive at same time.

I dont know the capabilites of the Coopers, but this number is for my Cooper S. I do hope that the S's were given a slighlty bigger tank.

But can anyone beat my range? It's 441.

I can't come anywhere near that. I think the best I've seen is in the 350-360 range.

They have the same fuel tank. I have to check this out. I do get in the low-mid 400's after filling up.

Darn, well it wont be a fair contest then. Despite this, I won't limit to the S's.... Bring it Coopers!

Everyone knows the computer lies .

I normally see around 424 when I fill up, but I always fill at around 370 and put in around 12.5 gallons. BTW I think the tank holds 13.2 gallons.

I've had my mpg read out read 99.9 before all you have to do is reset the system while going downhill at around 75 with the clutch in. My normal mpg is 30.3 and that is not using the onboard computer, that’s with real math. I'll try and catch a pic next time. Edit: I caught it

Well I have never run my tank down lower than the light coming on,it turns on at 8 litres to go,and then I have a way to go.I drive on a highway with no gas stations between home and the city so I tend to fill when I'm around 1/2 empty. Now I'm not going to do the math, but unless it it is very cold, like -20 or lower,I go 400K on 1/2 a tank. That is 250 miles,ok i'm doing some conversions. Now the second 1/2 of the fuel gauge runs down faster than the first 1/2.I go from full to 3/4 in 225k,3/4to 1/2 400k,1/2 to 1/4 500k.Thats 350+miles,and I still have 12.5 litres to go,at around 7 litres per 100k,so call it 675 k.Kind of works out to 450 miles per tank
No OBC so I can't comfirm this, but I have been doing it for 19 months now
