Don't expect any significant or radical changes for the '06 MY. Most of the significant changes and improvements already took place for the '05 MY. 2006 will be the last year of the current R50/R53 MINI with the Tritec Chrysler engine. The all new '07 R56 MINI with the Peugeot engine is set to be launched at the end of 2006.
I think 2006 will bring some new colors, new accessories and 1 or 2 limited edition models. Expect the rest to be a carryover from MY '05.
Hope this helps.
Any price increases for the 2006 models? Or, does MINI usually raise their prices at the start of the calendar year, such as the $500 price increase that took effect starting January 1, 2005.
I have not been following MINI's all that long, do the prices generally go up about $500 every year??

Price increases could actually happen at intro time and in January. For instance, for the 2004 MY, MINI increased the price slightly in September '03 and then again a $500 increase in January '04. Same thing happened for the '05 MY.
It seems to me that the BEST cars of any given model year are built on or after January or during the last 6 months of the year production cycle.
There is no way of knowing what the increases will be for the '06 MY. For instance a new '05 MCS is $1,000 more expensive than an early build 2004 MCS comparably equipped.
So My prediction will be in the $500-$1000 ballpark but given the weak Dollar and unfavorable exchange rates with the Euro and British Pound, this could be even more.
Who knows

If new colors are offered in 2006, I really hope MINI offers the convertible in Pepper White... I think that would be awesome. (with a black or dark blue interior)

So, what brings you to this conclusion, that the best of the model year are made the last 6 mo of production?
