R50/53 Who has standard MC seats and likes them?
I suppose your petiteness has something to do with the standard seats not holding you better. They have less side bolstering so you have more room to slide around. I find the standard seats are just fine for my 170lb frame. I found the sport seats too firm and confining and my legs fell asleep all the time. Guess that's why they make both kinds. One size does not fit all. Buying new ones will cost you a fortune unless you can find someone in the classifieds getting rid of theirs.
I ordered the cloth sport seats on my MC, mainly to hold me in place better for autocrossing. I find them acceptable for my 15 mile commute to work and even for trips up to an hour or two, but much more than that I get uncomfortable. I'm rather large (6'1" and 245 lbs) and the bottom side bolsters can really start to get uncomfortable after 4 or 5 hours on the road. I find that I have to adjust my seating position every hour or so on long trips. I'm working on losing 30 or 40 pounds, and if the seats aren't more comfortable when I'm down around 200 lbs, I'll probably have to relegate the Mini to local duty only and use another vehicle for longer trips. I'm sure the standard MC seats would be more comfortable for me on longer trips.
