I should mention that I have 14lbs wheels and not the S-heavies so it's accelerates quite well with the MTH upgrade. Plus, I have all three packages too...

when the track opens up I will take it out and get some real #'s.

I suspect that what I'm feeling is the combined result of the lower gearing, the slight HP increase, and the boost from the supercharger climbing. I don't think they've actually changed the cam grind, but it feels great.
The lower gearing in the 05 I believe is only for gears 2nd and 3rd. First gear has not changed.

Coming from a 2001 Vette to my 05 MCS back in August--I have been pleasantly surprised by how quick the car is. What, to me, is even more amazing is I feel the car is pulling stronger now (3,500 mile)! I am sure cooler weather is a factor--but the grins continue.
It's definitely the cooler weather! Cold air means everything to a supercharged engine. These cars are at least 20hp more powerful in the winter versus the summer.

Nope - lower across the board, if the sources where I found the following info (motoringfile?) are correct. Biggest differences in 1st and 2nd, but 3rd through 6th are all reduced. It's almost like 1st and 2nd were reduced, but so was the entire "rear end" ratio (an analogy for us old farts who still don't quite unnerstan' front wheel drive and sideways motors).

2005 MINI Cooper S trans ratios:

1st 12.789
2nd 7.793
3rd 5.651
4th 4.615
5th 3.828
6th 3.126

2004 (and earlier?):

1st 11.425
2nd 7.181
3rd 5.397
4th 4.407
5th 3.656
6th 2.986

Using 100*(2004-2005)/2004 I came up with the following percentages:

1st -11.9%
2nd -8.5%
3rd -4.7%
4th -4.7%
5th -4.7%
6th -4.7%

2005 rips.

Got 9,000 miles on mine and it is fast. I believe the ECU
learns your driving style and adjusts accordingly. No, complaints here.
