Is anyone making a trailer hitch for an S?

Several people have put a 1.25 inch receiver under the battery box, and used a long plug in hitch on that. I think it is Paulmon that has his photos posted on NAM somewhere, and I have seen photos of another similar to his.

There is one Stainless steel hitch available from a shop in New York. My friend said it took about 5 hours labor to put it on himself. He is happy with it.

I am a cheep skate, but had to find a way that looked nice, so I made my own of a different design.

Mini Fini has been saying they will release one soon, and sent a letter to those on their mail list in January 05. Between the base, the hitch, and installation this is an EXPENSIVE solution. Your MINI dealer installs the base part for your "bicycle rack". I don't know if the dealer will sell you the hitch attachment or if you order it direct. I would love to hear what a MINI dealer says about a trailer hitch rated at 1400 pounds on the back of a MINI.
