What to do first?

Well as many of you have read a lot of my other post about car issues and remember that when I purchased my Mini Cooper Convertible I ordered the alarm, but when I went to pick up the car I was told it was not yet in. Well after 3 months I decided to cancel it. Today I was told they would send me a check for 390 yet I paid 700 dollars for. Now correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure thats illegal as I paid for something and I did not receive what I paid for.

Call em' and have them correct their error. Make sure you have documentation (receit/cc bill, bank statement) available to proove what you paid. Don't expect them to point out there error. The likelyhood though is that its an honest mistake and should be correctable.

Howard,

We have to get you some better "Car"ma.

Perhaps we can get some DCMM folks to dance around your car with some dead (rubber) chickens and exorcise the demons who seem to follow you.

As Sticky Wicket says, you should be able to show the dealer the error of their ways - just have them pull out the original purchase order.

well

All I know is this whole Mini ordeal has completely turned me off to ever buying a mini again. Which is sad because at one point I loved them.

I think Sticky Wicket is on the right track. Most times when I feel someone has 'Done me wrong' it is just a misunderstanding. Hopefully you'll at least get all your money back, and you'll be able to enjoy your Mini in spite of the dealer problems. -- Good Luck toward that!

The biggest problem with these situations is that they are so completely draining. Spending time on this nonsense as opposed to what you'd like to be doing is the true burn.
However, that said, make sure you shrink the amount of time you spend dealing with this silliness by talking to the person that matters the first time. Make sure the only one you tell your story to is the manager. If you waste your time with the MA, you'll often have to repeat yourself and make the experince just that much more laborious. I think it's highly likely you can sort it out and get out motoring again in no time (full 700 whatever $ in your pocket).
Don't let them get away with it and don't set a precident.

Your right

looks like my MA was just confused on how much they charged me. They are going to give me the full price I paid for the Alarm.
