Hi Everyone,

I'm not a new Mini owner just yet but I hope to be soon. My fiance and I are in the process of moving and with the holidays upon us, it's just a little hectic. I was just wondering what the average delivery time is for a new Mini once it's ordered....? I stopped by my local Mini dealership this past weekend and took an MCS out for a test drive. I'm not sure if he was serious or not be he tried to tell me the wait was close to a year. I find this not only very depressing but also very disturbing. Was he just exaggerating or is this true....? The dealership is in Northern California, East Bay BMW/Mini. Any info regarding delivery time would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Miguel

Wait time depends upon dealer (how many are on their list...each dealer keeps separate lists). There is no wait at MINI North Scottsdale to order an MC, but there's a significant wait for ordering an MCS. You may be better off buying one from the showroom floor, unless you want a truely personal MINI.

Locally here in Denver it is about 10 months. You might have some luck calling all of the dealers nationwide and looking for a vehicle that has been ordered by a customer who backed out of the deal at the last minute.

I cut my wait from 6 months to 6 weeks and am picking mine up this next week. It is almost exactly what I would have chosen anyway but with a few more added nice things.

After I took a test drive, and my local dealer told me it would take 10 months to get an S, I went to MINIUSA.com and wrote to EVERY dealer in the US. Some dealers will order your car right away. I ended up getting a car that someone ordered last year, but couldn't afford to keep. The car was close to what I would have ordered (in fact there are a few things on yhe car I wouldn't have ordered that I'm glad to have...) and I got it right away. If you look hard enough, you can find a car now. There are a few dealers and private sellers with new cars on ebay. Maybe there is one that you like there? Good luck!

Hey Guys,

Thanks for all the replies so far. My fiance was actually planning on trying to surprise me also with a Mini for X-mas. I was just kinda doing all the leg work for her to make things easier. But of course that's when I found out about the short supply. I'm trying to figure out a game plan now. Would a car broker have better luck finding me one sooner...? Keep the replies coming...

Thanks,
Miguel

I doubt that a broker could find one under MSRP, then you would be paying for the car plus the broker's fee...I think that you could do just as well with a little research. After all, there aren't that many MINI dealers. Cheers!

Hi MiniSprt
We ordered an MC in Southern Cal in October, and is due in January. We were told the MCS is a 10-12 wait list now down here in Irvine
