R50/53 Supercharger pto plate waterpump side

Supercharger pto plate waterpump side
Hi guys,services my supercharger last week and opened the rear plate that covers the pto gears for the water pump side, it doesnt appear to have a gasket on it so i just bolted it back up, should i have put rtv on it? Do i need to take it off again and put rtv on it?
