I have just spent the past 1/2 hour searching, so if someone knows of an existing thread out there about this subject, please point me to it.

I can find many threads about how the MCS has changed from '04 to '05.

I found a thread that talked about the changes across both models from '04 to '05. One post said that there was an improved 5 speed gear box in the '05.

I'm not talking about color choices or the chrono pack. So, with that in mind, what mechanical improvements did MINI make between '04 and '05 with the Cooper?

The gearbox alone seems like enough of a reason to go for a new '05 instead of a used '04. I'm just wondering if there are any other good reasons.

The only thing that comes to mind is the Getrag gear box, the dash board is now three pieces instead of five. The MFSW is three spoke instead the nicer two spoke wheel. Go for new, get it the way you want it.
