Priming Engine

In a few weeks, I’ll re-install the engine into my R53 and hopefully start it up. Are there any procedures for priming any portions, since the fuel line, oil, coolant and transmission fluid will all be fresh? I know that the coolant will need to be bled, but I want to know if there’s anything special to prime time flow of oil or fuel.

Thanks in advance.

To prime the fuel use the Schroeder valves on the and of the rail and keep cycling the key until you get good clean steady fuel.
Oil? It aint no Chevy so the best I can offer would be to pull the plugs, bar it over several times then run the starter until you get oil pressure. Stick the plugs back in and fire it up.
If you have a cooling system pressure tester it makes bleeding the cooling system cake.

When I went to start my replacement engine, I pulled the fuse to the fuel injectors and cranked the engine a couple of times to prime the engine oil.

I prefer to remove fuel rather than spark from the combustion chamber to mitigate washing the cylinder walls with fuel or (not very likely) hydrolocking the engine.

Once I put the fuse back in place, the engine first sputtered to life. I shut off and restarted. The next start was fine.

1st i started by having assembly lube on all cam lobes ect then once together fully.Remove fuelpump fuse and unplug coilpack and crank over a few times to prime oil best you can..I only cranked like 5 seconds. Then put back in fuse for fuelpump and turn the key to the 3rd position but DONT crank it over and it will engage priming of the fuelpump. Only need to do that 3-4 times , you will hear once your fuel system is primed. It makes a consistent high frequency flowing noise.. then plug everything back in and start it up.
