Replacing strut supports and struts, need a good recommendation, not super expensive

Hello all, 2005 R53s running well, have a terrible squeaking when I turn the steering wheel on drivers side by dash, appears to be the strut bearing plate, possibly a bad bearing. It’s not any power steering or other binding issues. Was hoping to get a strut, spring, plate combo for easy swap out but don’t want junk, I need some reasonably priced recommendations please! Thanks All!-E

There is no pre-assembled combo that I know of. (Except a full coilover setup, which isn't cheap)
To do an in-n-out exchange you'd have to buy springs, struts and plates separately, and pre-assemble them yourself.
Unless they're damaged, springs last a long time on our cars, so that would be an unnecessary expense right there.

The plates will quite often squeak in colder weather, but if the rubber isn't cracked it's normally more of a nuisance than anything.

I had the audacity to try and save some time and money replacing my OEM rear struts with off brand pre-built/assembled units. They lasted about 10 months.
Good thing I saved the original springs. I replaced that garbage back with OEM strut/shocks and bushings. Riding smooth again now for 2+ years.
Stay away from TRQ.

Check out Monroe Quick Struts. I run them on my R53 and they're fine. They're a complete assembly - mounts, springs, shocks. Reasonable cost and good quality. Try www.stockwiseauto.com for the best price.
