M45 Supercharger Facelift without Teflon Rotors

Hi everyone,

I've removed a supercharger from a 2008 Cooper S. The charger is dated 17/08/07 but the rotors are non coated.

I thought all Facelift (post 05) and JCW's had Teflon Rotors fitted? Does anyone know whether Eaton changed this later in production?

I am doing an engine and gearbox swap from this (low mileage) 2008 into a 2005 and was planning on taking the charger across though my existing one (in the 2005) is Teflon... so not sure whether I would be any better off..

Any ideas?

Cheers

Leon

Those sure look coated. They appear dark grey in your pic.

The picture wasn't great, they are light gray and don't have the darker grey abradable coating that I've seen on other chargers... attached a couple of further photos.

Hmm...I wonder if the last of the sc had a different coating applied. The rotors don't appear to have any coating wearing off. That would be more important to me than what specific coating was applied. Thermal efficiency seems to be the big advantage to the teflon coating. I just had my sc rebuilt with newly coated rotors because the coating on my non facelifted sc was peeling. I would have left it alone if it wasn't peeling.
