Agreed, a very good article. For context, perhaps even better combined with this video @NC TRACKRAT posted this morning:
New Video: "Giant Killer-The Story of MINI Cooper"

A reminder that "RACE CAR" spelled backwards is: "________"

how's this for race car ? Guy I met other week entered this in grassroots 2k$ car build off.. running a Nissan vq engine...lolol was as slow as the na mini was unfortunately because the engine only ran in limp mode at 92hp buuuuut he found out how to override that and will get accurate numbers come the new season.

I regret never getting to go the the GRM competition, but I barely had time to spare for working on the car at the time. Some really wild stuff usually showed up. I got to see the sucker vette in person some time after it competed though. That thing was wild.

What's ALWAYS been on my mind since owning my mini is.........ls4 SWAP . Why the ls4 you ask ? Because it's a front wheel drive setup ls engine and that'd eliminate the issues with Trans and driveshafts ect.. just imagine

Was all custom mounts and stuff. Had all custom front end steering and I belive a manual steering rack was used.. pretty much just put the engine in the trunk so Trans was inline with rear wheels and made mounts to accommodate...I wish I had more info too but the guy seemed not to have much Interest in it anymore. He was a gearhead for sure lol..he did all the work himself too...I told him to join this forum so I hope he does.
