R50/53 Sunvisor differences R53 early/late.
Sunvisor differences R53 early/late.
According to realoem for R53 Cooper S, there is an early sunvisor up to 7/2004 production, then a late version.
Does anyone know the actual differences between the early and late sun visors?
Thanks,
Justin

looking at outmoting.com I see they list the part
there is a different number for sunroof and no sunroof
and the part has been 'superseded' a couple of times
but I don't see different versions by build date and they are usually pretty good about that point . . .

Based on the fact the mirror bits are falling out of mine, it probably makes sense that it was superseded. Its just not clear if the new ones can bolt in place. I have a non sunroof and the "light package" which is fairly common, at least here in Japan.
The link seems to show that one can fit all. I'm going to go with that, since visually they look identical.

Just looked closer. There is a part number difference between early and late.
Just not obvious what the actual differences are.

the newer sun visors have one on the left where the oh **** bar usually is, and a visor in front , hope that make sense , so size might be different
Aside from any pre or post facelift fitment differences, I figured different p/ns for North America vs other market regions NOT requiring the DOT mandated airbag warning markings. My visors are pristine but I'd much prefer Euro spec versions if without those obnoxious warnings and if still available at reasonable cost.
That is the issue. Certain parts I really don't mind paying good money for. But darn sun visors are expensive. I just can't find any early japan market (different warning sticker) sun visors used. And may need to try a newer sun visor just to see how different it is.
