2003 MCS Random high idle with code p0507
Hi all so my mini popped a code on my ultra gauge (similar to scan gauge) a p0507. At the time it was idling high so i pulled over and checked the fuel vapor vacuum hose on the back of the intake. It was not loose but I double checked it since that has been a problem before. I kept driving and it started idling normally again but the code remained in the system. Throughout today it has idled normally and a tad high randomly at stops (about 850 to 900 rpm). Just even when normal for a long period of time such as tonight it would still pop the code on my gauge. I would assume this is a vacuum leak of some sort, but since it randomly idles high Im not too sure. Any input to what it could be would be greatly appreciated!
Was thinking it could be one or the other it's just the randomness. I would think if it was a vacuum leak it would idle odd all the time right?
If trims go correct with throttle (say 3 or 4K rpm) that would indicate an air leak.
if not I’d go with sensors. Map, pre-cat O2
Not sure on the pulley

So after some highway driving this morning at around 3k 6th gear 65 mph my fuel trim seems to be bouncing alot goes from -1.6 to 7 and everywhere in between. Granted I also had cruise control on to eliminate human error. Does that seem normal? Also with a Alta intake and 15 pulley no tune.
Ac off radio off everything off.
Would a boost leak cause this is sure like maybe the intake pipe that goes to the supercharger is leaking because I am low on boost but it has been for longer than this issue has occurred.
I’d lean towards no on that. No boost at idle.
as far as I know idle is a function of readings from the map and O2 sensors (pre-cat).
so one of those sensors or an air leak.
Sounds like you did a smoke test already? If no leaks, I’d start replacing sensors but that’s because I don’t know better

Ok just one more thing i noticed last night not sure if this would have anything to do with this issue. Granted I have not had the time to test any of the sensors or preform a smoke test. When I turn my headlights off my rpms tend to exceed 820 but when they are on the car idles normally is this something related to a possible alternator? Battery is from 07/20 so probably not the battery right?
