R53 - Stock radio faceplate removal?

Preface: Sorry for the uninteresting dumb post.

'04 R53 stock radio/head unit - I was was wondering if anyone has had any success (or reason)
removing the faceplate on the stock CD/radio unit?
I'd like to retain the original interior components of my Mini. However antiquated the original sound system may be, it works well and still sounds good. The problem is that the clear plastic display
shield has got some burn-in blemishes and I'd like to replace it with a new sheet of polycarbonate/plexiglass. I've tried every obvious (to me) clip, tab, retainer in effort to detach the faceplate but it just won't come off.
Is there a "trick"? ....Not sure what I'm missing.

Since installing a 15% SC pulley and a CAI; I don't really listen to music that often.
The whine and the engine performance -= That sound alone, is music to my ears.

Thanks.

Thanks for the link @ssoliman
Allmag seems like a great resource. Shipping from Tampa has also, always been quick.
I actually considered replacing the OEM CD radio with a same (preowned/used) OEM unit. However unclear to me; I've read conflicting (unconfirmed) statements that replacing some used units require re-programming
the radio unit to the car.
That faceplate doesn't seem to want t come off.... without potentially breaking something. I'll have to do a little more research on the "re-programming" controversy.

Thanks

radios before "04 require the code to be input to the head unit in order to make them work again......I don't know the exact cut off date for them

I've swapped a few in my '04 without a problem. Also have a few left over if you want to go that direction.

Hey - that's good info!
I just came across a good used factory radio unit from an '05 R53 and am considering it as the replacement.
Besides being cosmetically good and functional -The one advantage is that this '05 radio states that it displays CD and MP3 tracks... which my current OEM unit does not.
I already have an AUX input installed and considering adding a bluetooth adapter as well....(as long as it doesn't mess up my audio steering wheel controls).

@Eric Rodewald do you have any OEM CD radios from an '05 (as specs above) that are in good cosmetically and good working order?
I might be interested.

Thanks!

Well not to belabor the topic of removing the faceplate on the R53 OEM radio head unit...
However; While researching DIY dash removal, I came across this interesting DIY instructionable for changing the color of the OEM LEDs instrument and dash lights.
Dash light colour change by zirconmr2
I found my answer regarding what is involved in the removal of the OEM radio faceplate.about 1/4 down on the page.
Nice tutorial though!
