My local dealer has 3 MC's in stock and their web page doesn't have pictures of the cars but they give VIN numbers. Is there a way to determine paint color from the VIN number?

The VIN does not contain the paint code. But you could ask the dealer for the code. Here is a link for the paint codes from the mini2 site.
