I am looking for a replacement HVAC controller for my 2006 R53.

My car started out as a parts car, so my HVAC controller was swapped out with a later 2004 R53.

I purchased one from a NAM member who is now ghosting me that would not fit. The connector does not fit and there is a unit attached to the back of it.

The bag that the replacement came is is labeled 2002-2004 but the part numbers don’t cross and the connector doesn’t fit.

I found this one that matches Real OEM and believe it is correct. Also trying to figure out the other two, so I can resell the one I purchased and not screw the new buyer.

Real Oem says for my 2006:
64 11 6 962 469

In my car from late 2004:
64 11 6 952 389

Purchased as suitable sub:
64 11 6 935 489

I’ve attached some Real OEM screen shots. The bottom two part numbers don’t show up. Also. What is the #2 part attached to the back of the controller?

Sorry, deleted original post. Mistake in post regarding a piggy back module for the toggle switch bank and not the HVAC controller.

 

#2 is a temp senor. reads temp in the cabin. they may have integrated it at some point? I don't know that, just a guess.

mine has the sensor but it does not look that large (as in the pic on realoem). comparing to my 2006 r50
