CVT Transmission Filter replacement advice

Hey fellow Cooper lovers,
I'm planning on doing a filter replacement soon.. hopefully sooner than later, I'm looking to know what all could need to be replaced when I go to do this procedure as I know the subframe must be lowered to accomplish this. So I'm figuring the car being a 2005 there will be things that have to be replaced but that I've never done this task before I dont know what all that would be (links, tire rods, ect.) If anyone has done this before please drop me a reply with some suggestions.

And before anyone says it, yes I have a CVT in my Cooper, was a $500 Cooper in mint shape and there was no way I was passing it up. Yes I do have plans on swapping out to a 5 or a 6 speed transmission once I have the financial means to do so (subscribe to Random Andrew on YouTube and I'll be that much closer). Until then I baby this beauty of a Coop'.

How many miles does it have? That’s a lot of work if it isn’t necessary. I wouldn’t replace it at less than 100,000 miles just due to the amount of effort and limited need. I would recommend replacing the CVT fluid every 35,000 miles though and that isn’t a trivial task either.

Ya I know, I was reading through a bunch of "how to" on both jobs incase I could buy time by just doing the fluid for now. My '05 had 256K when I got it and I alone have put at least 5K on it since I got it. It's not likely that the previous owner had it done any time recently before I got it. I've already boughta solid floor jack and 2 out of 4 of the jack stands I'll need to properly lift it as I dont have access to a lift. My biggest concern is when I got unbolt the subframe and everything else that needs to be undone.. I just know some of these aged parts are not going to go back together the same.

So having owned MY05 Cooper with CVT, You will be replacing it, my first went out at 70k the second at 170k, even with the dealer changing the Fluids in the CVT.
But the sooner you replace with a Manual the sooner your driving experience will change. we put in a MY06 Cooper S 6 speed, after 14years it really changed how it drove.
This is the thread that gave me loads of info plus some of my progress in the swap

Biggest costs are the Transmission itself and Computer reprogramming by WayMotorworks
