R50/53 P1498 CE code - FPR vacuum line disconnected
P1498 CE code - FPR vacuum line disconnected
Adding a P1498 thread to the mix for the next guy.... Have not verified if this is fixed yet, but the line was off and the code was telling me unmetered air in the system. So, documenting what I found.
Swapped in a new motor mount several days back and ended up getting an intermittent P1498 code that did not show up when I was "babying it" before the axle swap. After not babying it the code popped up. Hooked up my scantool.net MX unit and cleared the code... monitored it as I drove and found the vacuum seemingly on the low side for idle (8~12"). Busted out a good light and started looking for a leak & found one vacuum line disconnected near the front of the motor. So digging into the world of google & images, I found the other end of the line was going to the FPR on the fuel rail. More googling led me to this thread...

and the image contained within which showed me where the line went. Got the line back on w/o having to remove anything so all thats left is a test drive... a fun one at that. With that said... the first time the CAC (aka intercooler) comes off, on goes a regular vacuum line with zip ties on both ends. I might even insulate it to prevent it from getting brittle since it sits in a hot spot.
Next.... sigh....
