I would think if you just buy a 2004 back up light that would work

Rear Fog Lamp = $100

Since I spec'd Chili Red, I found myself with about $500 surplus bucks (which would have gone toward a metallic paint color). I invested my pretend windfall in the Cold Weather PKG, and rear fog lamp. At the TIME, I was thinking better visibility, but recent posts have made me appreciate both the cosmetic/appearance aspects AND the (OK I won't say nyah nyah ) full toggle bank!

That's a lot for a hundred beans  ,

That cheap black plastic cover in the rear bumper of non-fog light equipped MINIs has to be the fugliest feature in the 2005 "refresher".

MINI's were meant to have the backup light down there in the bumper and when you move it out of there, you end up with an ugly cavity that has to be covered with a plastic lid when not in use.

I don't understand why MINI did this. Maybe to save $$$ on all those extra backup light assemblies as it is cheaper to integrate them into the tailights. And don't get me started on the new ALL RED tailights.

Ordering the red rear fog light from the factory, somehow minimizes the negative effect, but still doesn't look right. I hope MINI rectifies this snafu for '06.

Get a quote from the dealer. The part should be at least $100 and you also have to factor dealer labor rates for the installation that includes programming and installation of a brand new toggle switch bank.

This is why ordering it from the factory is such a bargain for only $100. When you have the rear fogs installed aftermarket you are going to pay 4 times as much.
