Did anyone find out if the 2005 rear fog light retro fit kit is out? And what the price and part # is?

 

Don't know, but I'll bet they sell a lot of them. Anything to get rid of that bizarre little plastic thingy on the rear bumper!

 

The toggle switch bank retails for $75.00 and the actual lamp ia about $21.00. The catch is that only cars produced from 10/14/2004 have the harness for the rear foglamp located behind the rear bumper. I am not sure what the procedure will be for 2005 models built prior to 10/14/2004; I sent an email to Mini asking this question. For cars built on or after 10/14/2004, a dealer's service department will have to turn on the lamp via programming. I would imagine each dealer will charge what they want but I would say 1/2 hour to 1 hour labor is a fair guess. The lamp just came available by the way. The toggle bank is the same as the previous models.

 

Does any body know the part # for the rear lamp? My car was made in august but I think the wiring is there but in any case I would like atleast the lamp in there to make it look better.

Mine is a mid November build date and it has the wiring. Just ordered the housing yesterday. Sorry, no part numbers here at work.

The parts dept. guy just received the bulletin with all the necessary part numbers FWIW.

 

There is a bundle of wires running behind the face plate wrapped in electrical tape on my 2nd week August build. Would that be it? I havent yet unwrapped them yet.
