2006 R52 78k Mile Refresh
TL;DR Once you start replacing things, it's hard to stop!
This all started back in November, when I decided I would swap in a 15% supercharger pulley, new radiator hoses, new intercooler boots, and a new intake hose. After failing epically at the coolant refilling (which I found out was caused by a cracked radiator hose connection), I towed Ginger in to the dealer, coming out with a new radiator and a small list of 'you should get these done' items. In February I noticed a rattle in the engine bay that sounded suspiciously like a loose timing chain guide. That got me looking back at the list from the dealer, seeing a torn CV boot and control arm bushings needing to be replaced. Deciding that I needed to invest my money in my car and not the dealer's pocketbook, I took matters into my own hands!
It's May, Ginger has been up on jacks in the garage since mid-March. Below are the things I've worked on (or will be wrapping up in the next few weeks).
Things Done-ish
Coilovers
15% supercharger pulley
Aluminum coolant tank
Aluminum power steering tank
Oil catch can
Subframe
Pulled this bad boy out from under the car, cleaned it up to looking darn well new, and replaced...
Oil filter housing gasket
Crankshaft positioning sensor o-ring
Oil pan gasket
DDM intake
M7 strut tower brace
Upper strut plates
Fuel filter
CV axles L & R
Things waiting for parts to be delivered
Oil pan
All the timing parts
WMW ECU Quicktune
Axle hubs L & R front
Things I am now thinking about doing based on the state of parts I find 😃
Brake rotors
Brake calipers
Brake lines because why not at the point you take the calipers off
There are probably more little things I've done, but I am waiting until everything is completed before compiling all of the details together. Thanks to NAM and ModMini I have been able to approach doing all of this work with little fear!

Sounds about like how my fall started out last year. Except I was trying to diagnose a strange rattle(Pump side of the SC).
Well done and post any pics if you have any. Or you could start a build thread like I've been meaning to.

I'm in the same boat. Bought the car with 80K miles last fall. Despite the low miles, it needed a lot of love. So far, I have done the following:-
- Continual hunting down & fixing of oil leaks (CPS o-ring, Oil filter/cooling housing gaskets, oil pan gaskets, crankshaft seal, valve cover gasket)
- Replaced worn belt tensioner and idler pulleys
- Replaced timing chain tensioner- Replaced A/C clutch
- Replaced damper with ATI Super Damper
- Replaced drive belt
- Oil change with Fumoto drain valve installed
- Transmission fluid change
- Serviced supercharger (oil change)
- Coolant change
- Replaced several missing fasteners and air intake tube

The best thing I could have done in this entire process was put away my fears and drop that subframe out of the car. I found P/S fluid from an old leak on it, and some oil here and there underneath. Replacing the filter housing gasket is taking care of one leak, and I'm replacing the oil pan gasket since I took it off to check for timing guide pieces. Being able to view the engine from the top and the bottom is making it simpler to find where old or new leaks were/are. If you follow ModMini on Youtube, he has a ton of really helpful guides, including how to pull that subframe out. It only took about an hour to do but I was going really slow! Be warned - pull that sucker out and you may find a whole bunch of other things that need tending to!
Definitely going to get a build thread up when I'm done. I've been taking a decent amount of pics so will have lots of info to share!
good luck with your build , as i am secretly doing the same as well, currently getting the block re-ringed honed new bearings rods , grind crank .. refresh head
Hahaha, I can definitely relate. My clutch started slipping (with 100,000 miles on it). In addition to the clutch, I'm also doing an LSD, front suspension bushing replacement, and pretty much every seal I can get to when the subframe and transmission is off. A little over $1,700 in parts, the clutch kit is only $370.
