lol I've done 1 headjob and it was just too overwhelming doing it alone and a job so big by my self , I would worry if I did it by my self id worry I would screw something up and I would hate to ruin this head and my engine..

Ok I understand. If you felt it was overwhelming might not be a good idea. I do this stuff for fun. Mine is not a car I count on for anything. Its not a daily by any means. Its also basically is new even though it has 150k on it. No rust not even on a single bolt. All plating still intact. FWIW if you need a new black inlet pipe I have one here I used for maybe 100 miles and a new green jam gasket for it as well. I am guessing your tab is likely cracked or broke.

This. Just do it. Its really not hard on a little 4 banger. The timing chain is literally the hardest part. Plus for less than you'd spend paying someone to do it you could buy a legit torque wrench and stud it (head studs instead of bolts). And still have money left over for more mods. Watch a couple tutorials and get at it.

Wow, im very pleased with how well my headlights came out.
I might just keep my stock headlights now as they actually look nice once again. I do want to in time open up the headlight housing an wrap inside with carbon fiber wrap and install halos.

The DRLs on the side are nice!

Was also planning on adding them (read: conversion), but they are very low on my todo list

We were going to add a bigger cam with the TPR2 but by the time we did the new springs etc etc that was needed we found the labor and the parts was going to be close to the RMW head and cam so that's why I upgraded to the bigger head. We also went to a 55mm pulley vs the 70 and the combo is really rockin. I'm not fully tuned because we had issues getting downloads from the Bytetronik port so that has to be done.
You will enjoy this new combo. I agree with Akumazeto that you should run it as it is and not port it. If you do decide to do it I would talk to Mike at Thumper about it. He might give you a screaming deal on a little touch up.

SpecD , they say for 05-06 facelift models only but all I had to do was change the resistor they came with. The ones they came with caused hyper flash.
I did add trim rings around them too that actually flare outward and gwt rid of the gap around the taillights then too.

Sold my aero grill and bought this one and then painted the lower grill gloss black to match . I LOVE EM !!!! I also straitened out that dent in my lower bumper with lots of heat so when the new flared cover comes it fits flush..
here's a before and after..I will get better pics in the light tomorrow
Opinions ??

Here's better comparison. I actually think the jcw aero did look better but I like the gloss black look better so it was a good trade off. And it better matches my lower grill honeycomb shapes now

Put on the bumper cover unfortunately it doesn't work with the splitter I had but its a good trade off. Also installed carbon fiber dash and posts.. LOOKS SIIIIIIIIIIIIICK IMO.
Flushed and changed the oil and gave the car a full check over..found I need a new passenger side axel boot but other than that 0 other issues.

The head n cam install starts Saturday ! I been steady studying and I'm ready fir this, though I have a mechanic helping me or I should say I'm helping him. Got my car all cleaned up and then I got the head all cleaned n prepped so when its time this bad mammajamma goes on..wish me luck with all this. Once done I'm having fellow member adriancl tune it , he's tuned it 2x already for me so I know he knows his stuff on the tuning side of things for sure.

Head n cam swap is going very well. Took 4.5 hours only to fully disassemble everything . Then I spent another 4 or 5 hours today porting the intake manifold and cleaning up all the intakes and sc and then coating them in an anti heat ceramic paint and it came out great.i also changed the oil in the sc which was full still and very clean yet.I
didn't go ***** to the wall with porting but I removed a good amount of material and gasket matched them..
alI'm.going to open up the exhaust manifold ports also.
I'm also cleaning up my engine block and pan from the oil leak i finally found which is my dipstick tube..
I'm also 90% sure this is not the cars original engine as no numbers on it came anything close to my vin. Plus my odometer reads 208k and with how visible the cross hatching is on my cylinder walls and lack of carbon build up there's no way it has 200k it looks better than most 100k engines I've seen !
just gotta finish cleaning everything up and next Saturday it will go back together.
I also put my old head up for sale and I think ille include my AMAZING porting tool and unused bits I have left to sweeten the deal.
anyways heres some progress pics

Spent a few more hours today and Ported my exhaust manifold now and wow its ports were puny sized compared to how big I made them to just gasket match. Then coated my intake n sc ontop of the antiheat paint to make it flashy
It looks 10x better in person because you can see it sparkle...now tomorrow I will be cleaning up the engine block n engine bay

What kind of paint did you use on that intake and blower?
