R50/53 MC '05 price
MC '05 price
Hi all! I'm considering getting a Mini Cooper 2005 model soon. I am pretty far from all the mini dealers (so picking up the car might be a problem). And since I'm also a first time owner of mini, I don't know what price for a MC '05 with premium & cold weather package, white bonnet stripes, auxillary plug, security system, carpets, and fog lamps will be called a good deal. (I heard that it's hard to get a discount on a mini, but what price would you guys at least call fair with the specs that I listed above?) Please let me know. Thanks a bunch!
visit www.miniusa.com, use their build-your-own configurator to spec the car exactly how you would like it and, viola, you have the minimum price you'll end up paying. It's highly unlikely you'll get any discount off the msrp (they may throw in a set of mats if you're very lucky) and depending upon where you live you could end up paying a hefty premium over msrp.
MC '05 price
Thanks for your response.
I already visisted miniusa.com and I pretty much got the minimum price. But with the dealer's installation fee and all, which is just another way for the dealer to rip me off, some of the options I wanted pretty much doubled or tripled from what it was listed on the mini website.
I actually heard back from one dealer and she said that excluding tax and DMV registration fee, the MC '05 that I want will be 21,918. But, given that the dealer is located all the way in Huntington, Long Island, I might not want to travel all the way back there from Ithaca unless that is the best price (which I doubt). So now I'm still waiting for responses from several other dealers to see if there's any better deal.

I live in Virginia but bought my car from MOTH, Mini of the Hamptons, which may be the "dealer in Huntington" you referred to. They treated me really well, I got exactly what I ordered even though it was an odd combination of colors, and I only paid about $125 above list, and thats because they had to get me transportation plates and a temporary title. I took the train out to Moth - they picked me up at the train station, and the car was prepped and ready. Polished like a gem.
Other dealers wanted up to $1000 in extra "documentation" and "dealer prep" phoney fees. There are dealers that specialize in long distance buyers. They know how to do it and do it well.
