Broken light

Hi guys, got home last night after a savage day on the freeways of SoCal and found that a rock got my right side turn indicator. Lens and all. Do I need to go to the dealer to fix it? Should I repair myself? Is it covered under warranty???(yeah right).

What to do, what to do.

You could probably fix it yourself IF your dealership is cool, but if not they will give you crap about your warranty and charge you like $100 to fix it.

Email Classic MINI, get the part, put it in yourself. Don't EVEN think that replacing a cracked lens could somehow void your warrantee, unless you install it via the tailpipe.

once the bumper is off it's three screws....do it your self...also, in order to take the bumper off you need a tox bit 8mm and 10mm socket...and a philips head screw driver....easy $$

It depends on how confident you are in your mechanical abilities. I think the majority of people could do it themselves. You've got the manual and NAM to help you, after all.

I don't think you need to go to the dealer, unless it's close and you like them already.

It definitely won't be covered under warranty.

And if you drive a Cooper, this might be a good excuse to get some chrome inserts to replace your black ones.

trust me...if you can turn a bolt you can do this....I recommend having a helper...just to hold the bumper so it doesn't fall off...Oh...and a blanket to lay it on...I could get the bumper off in a bout 5 mins...no joke...maybe faster...

Wait, are we talking about the right front lens or the right side lens?

Taking off the front bumper is REALLY easy. Should take MAYBE 5 minutes. I agree, order the part from classic and do it yourself. Your dealer would just give you BS about your warranty and I dont know about you but I hate hearing those guys ramble about that crap.

Thanks guys! And yes it's the right front lens & bulb. I am sort of mechanical. Changed the master cylinder and water pump on my 240 DL wagon once. Even if I am a girl there are still somethings I can do. I am gald i have you guys around as reinforcements though! I'll call Calssic right away. Nammers are the best!

Hmmm... chrome inserts!
