R53 Auxiliary Gauge install

Has anyone installed the auxiliary gauges that sit in front of the cigarette lighter? I found the instructions on line but it doesn’t say if you have to remove the console to screw the housing in place.

Yes, you have to remove the console. There's no other way to attach the gauge panel to the console. It's not hard at all. Maybe 10-15 minutes and you've got the pieces in your hands.

Or....
You can RTV it in place.

I know it sounds "just duct tape it" ish, but Permatex black RTV actually works really well for these kinds of things, and is completely reversible should you want to remove it later with no surface damage.

I used it for my auxiliary switch panel in 2012, and it's still holding strong.
