CD53 R 50 Radio code

So i've learned that before 04 the radios were locked down with a code for in the event one might be stolen, or your battery dies and going to the dealership for every small issue is a design not a flaw.

It was an 03 super mini that i took the radio out of and put it in my 04 base R50. the S/N is AL 5008 3 03 29360. I've scoured the internet for hours, and only found "DOWNLOAD NOW FOR YOUR CODE" and "PAY $20 FOR YOUR CODE." I would download or pay but I have my doubts they work, and I contacted the local BMW dealership, but they had me email in pictures and everything, but kept saying things out the side of their mouths like they wanted me to go away and it isn't worth their time. It's the 4th today otherwise I would just go in and not leave until someone spent the 5min it would take to recover my code.

I need help please getting the code to my 03 mini super radio.

Model number CD53 R50
Serial number AL 500830329360
Parts Number 65 12-6 927 904

For the record, I tried the Alpine website, and called Harman / Kardon with no avail.

I honestly have never knew that any 1st Gen MINI radios had a code. I've used multiple 05+ radio and as well as late 06 and 07 cabrio radio and it has never redquired a code.

You are probably honestly better off getting a new radio from an 05+ that is MP3 compatible (old tech but better than nothing right?).

Found this and posted it in another thread a while back.....

The radios made until about 2003 did require that you enter a code after it had been disconnected from power. Newer radios do not require a code (they use a different security mechanism that detects when they are plugged into a MINI, and automatically unlocks).

Kinda figured that would be the answer. I just like to fix what i can. OH and there's only three pick n pulls around me that on occasion get a mini from 03 - 09 in their lot. Of the 7 or so minis to have hit the lot this year only 2 have been a match for my make and model. But those were parts like the hood, or speakers, maybe i'll find a match for the radio or an upgrade!

Thanks guys
