Hey guys! So yesterday i noticed my r53 was idling at around 1000rpm whereas usually it's around 800..and now all of a sudden my battery light came on.. Would these two things be connected? The battery is less than 2 years old, brand new alternator, brand new plugs and coil wires.. The car drives fine the battery light being on just stresses me out..

 

I realise you have some new components there, but have the charging system checked.
If the ECU reads low voltage, it will go into fast idle.
