Ecm question

Ok I just got into the mini game as my name says 02 mini 300.......... I bought an 02 MCS for 300 from a friend (needs clutch) and I'm looking for the best way to tune the ecm after I put the upgrades in it that I have exhaust, CAI, 17% pulley, 480cc injectors, my only problem is I live in Duncan Oklahoma and there is nothing out here unless you're a V8 fighting for attention!!!!! Please help

Check out RMW, Jan does tuning remotely, so you can get a customized tune anywhere. If you're looking to spend less money and probably get a bit less performance, way motor works has tunes preset for mods that he can give you. I won't be individualized for your car, but it's probably a safe way to go.

You'll definitely need a tune with those 480cc injectors, but it should run with the OEM injectors and the rest of those mods.

Bytetronik is in Texas and has an in house dyno. They'll also do remote tuning

You don't need the injectors with the mods you have.

I've done it. AFR was in the high 10's, IDC in the high 90% range, and no knock with crappy 91 octane CAN fuel.

knowing what I've read from you , I'm 100% confident you did do it...... but did you jump out of a plane without a parachute?
there is a reason why the factory put 380s in the car with just a 11% pulley......

I have not tried the Pastrana jump yet...

I still ask myself why Mini did that.

The 210hp tune isn't all that aggressive compared to the original JCW tune and JCW air box makes only a little difference. They had plenty of headroom left with the 340cc units, if I remember correctly my 04 JCW with all the bolt ons (pre-Sprintex) was only in the 60% IDC range and pig rich.

Don't get me wrong I understand power train engineers are always on the super cautious side as I've worked with quite a few of them but I would love to know what the actual reasoning was.
