Ha, I was wondering who scooped up that steering wheel! I totally wanted to but unfortunately had repairs to pay for. Lucky snag!

Been lurking for a JCW motor for a while to replace my high mile S motor.

I found one on ebay with 88k for $1850.00 plus shipping, said hell no. Then found it later on car-part.com and purchased for $1250.00 shipped.

so stoked right now.

Did you have any spacers on your R85 original wheels after lowering?

I did not, lowered on some kwv2, they were super low-low in those pics.

A small update, a little bad luck, which is over now.

I went through two motors from HPC imports, a yard in Georgia, both were identified as JCW, but only the last one was and it was DOA.

I will never buy another motor this way again, ouch. I disputed the charge after the second engine was installed, was refunded.

I do not recommend them to anyone. I ending up having the last JCW motor rebuilt to ensure maximum fun after all of this.

I also purchased an ATE BBK for $650 that ended up having a missing bracket! (could not tell upon inspection as both brackets looked the same as they were placed in the retail package) I had that custom bracket made for an additional $600.00. Retail price discontinued brakes $1250.

Iv also added new high HP axles from sneed4speed and had a Valeo single mass flywheel and clutch kit installed, also my remaining rear suspension components a white line rear bar with adjustable swaybar end links, and a low mile supercharger and I super bummed I missed that shorty header that just sold.

Got some killer new JCW serial plates from a member. Had a strange thought of mounting the Works exterior badges upside down as a joke cause iv spent way too much money.

Cheers!

First non-jcw motor they said was with busted valve cover.

Second clean JCW motor they sent arrived DOA

Awesome looking ride! Thank you for sharing the pics and story.

Is this wheel from the supplier in Poland?
They said they can do the R53 same price??

Sorry you had so much trouble getting a good engine. We actually have a brand new JCW engine for $4000 which would have been perfect for your situation.

But glad you now have it together and running as you can finally enjoy it.

I was surprised at the price of $450 including the core.... $550 with the CF trims.

Do it!

It’s worth it, it’s the main thing in the car you interact with.

You’re smart, I’m done doing things the long way to end up saving no moneys.

Cheers

I was commenting that I thought it was super reasonable cost for that wheel!

Carbon Fiber Friday!

Fresh from Taiwan, eBay carbon fiber dash kit for right under $200.00 Arrived in less than a week, no tracking. It all seems to line up, very happy with the purchase.

Great pix!

Do you have a link to the seller of the Ebay CF panels?

They look really nice.

If you have time... can you post a photo of the back-side of the CF pieces !

This is one nice machine !!

According to the website that is only for the -05-06 model years. Does anyone know if these 3 piece sets will fit the 5 piece -02-04?

I am pretty sure they are not interchangeable. It involves how the airbag is deployed too.

Do you double side tape these CF dash pieces to the originals, or do they replace them?
