Hello all,
Just got a pepper white 05 MCS 6- spd with 130,000 miles on it. Not a bad lil car. Looks super small but a-lot of room on the inside.
Has some minor issues that i've been sorting out. I have never seen a car with so much oil under the car. I took it to mini cooper service to get the airbag recall done and they checked it all out and told me what was wrong with. Total $5k in things that need to be fix WOW! I can do most all of it myself. So, i started with the valve cover gasket, it was leaking - easy fix, then on to the oil filter housing gasket. Driver side CV boot is crack so i ordered another one that sound be here this week. All the lower control arm bushings need to be replaced also. Power steering hoses were leaking so i took off the stock clamps and put new clamps on, fixed the leak! Before i bought it i read this forum and gained info on the car before hand. Thanks to all the posts, they really help! After getting the car I drove home in the rain, came to a light and saw alot of smoke coming from the front of the car. I freaked. then got on here and learned what "dragon breath" meant lol. Only other issue i'm worried about is the trans. I get the noise while in neutral and goes away when i pressure clutch, i know it is normal but, still looking to replace the clutch and TO bearing. Other in then that is car seems solid. everything works like it should except the headlight washer, they shoot strait out- i think because the chrome cover is missing.
