Yup. We got v.39 on our '02 and the yo-yo is almost gone and mileage is up. It's the first software that actually fixed something other than v.34 for the cold start.

My 03 MC only had 3500 miles at one year and I had the one year service done at Roadshow with no problem. The only thing they didn't do was change the cabin air filter.....that was fine by me.

Not sure if I want to drive 250 miles to get the software upgrade required by the recall. Got V-38 at my one year sevice and it improved the smoothness and reduced the off-line bog of my 5-speed MC.

Doing both recalls on Thursday. I had v36 installed in Jan. as I had a slight stumble on takeoff. That fixed it but it just doesn't "roar" off the line like it used to IMO. I hope v39 doesn't do anything further. I do have that idle "flutter" on occasion. Its like a heart valve or something not opening or closing in time. I hope v39 takes care of it.

Squeaky windows (only in the heat) and instrument lights (on and off w/ e-brake) issues are being taken care of as well. Late May 2003 build.
Love my car, tho.

Yeah, I got this done and now my parking brake light is on all the time and my traction control shuts itself off and remains beyond my control. I talked to my service guy and said this is happening to a lot of the cars that have been reflashed as a result of this recall.

2 weeks, 1500 miles since both of our MINIs got the V39.1 recall reflash. No problems to report. In fact, my MCS is showing remarkably improved city mileage. Prior to the V39.1 update, it would not go over 22-24 MPG in the city, now it is doing 26-28 MPG in the city with the same exact type of driving habits and traffic.

So far, very pleased.

On Thursday I took my car in for the re-call, also got my free oil change and rear wiper replaced.
Everything seemed OK until the next morning when I took the car out for a trip. About 40 miles after the upgrade the Engine Service Light comes on. I called the service manager and he said bring it in and he will check it out. By the time I get the dealer the light goes out. He said he would check it out but most likely it was a one-time deal and the light should stay off. So instead of having them hook it up to the diagnostic I just headed back home. Yesterday morning the light comes on again!
Well I called the service manager and he said he will check it out for sure, but now I have to wait until Monday.
The car seemed to operate differently after the re-call; the car seems more responsive and decelerates quicker.
Anyone have similar experiences?

The engine fault light was because an O2 sensor failed the one up front. About 6 months ago the rear O2 sensor failed and was replaced. Being that there are only 2 O2 sensors I may be in luck and not have them fail again.
Car runs great and the Emissions upgrade was painless, indecently all Yo-Yo effect have been eliminated, thought I would throw that in.

After getting the V39 in December I have notices serious stumble again (ala V36) V38 worked like a charm. I have noticed a marked improvement on mileage (40.5 highway/30 city) but that might be drag reduction from removing my Nutz. (Temporarily of course! ...not a good thing at Disney!)
