R50/53 Is my Mini tunned?
Is my Mini tuned?
What's the easiest way to determine if my MCS has an aftermarket tune? I recently bought an '06 MCS with the following mods, so I suspect the previous owner probably had it tuned:
- Lowering springs
- Lightweight wheels
- MSD igniton and wires
- Alta intercooler air diverter
- Alta CAI
- Alta 17% supercharger pulley
- Steering wheel gauges
- Catback exhaust (I recplaced with Alta Catback)
I used my buddies Vbox to text the 0-60 today and the best run was 5.8 seconds.

Unless you know someone with similar mods, it's really difficult to tell without diving into the ECU.
One way would be if the rev limit has been bumped, 6800 should be factory, but if it's not, that's no guarantee either. And unfortunately those mods wouldn't absolutely require a tune.

Yeap, they are in need of some attention.
I figured it wouldn't be that easy.
