Best way to Reattach the Stock upper grille?

Hey everyone!

So I decided to take off my stock grilles and paint them flat black.

After struggling a little to get the self tapping nuts off, I realized I may have a bit of a hard time getting the grille back on.

Will new self tapping nuts hold or do I need a size smaller?
Is that my best bet for getting it back on, or is there some other method (using the search function I saw someone mention skinny zip ties but I am thinking you still see them and I definitely don't want that.

Anyone put a stock grille back on?

Do the zip ties show or were you able to route them internally?

It's a gloss black grill, and I used gloss black ties so they aren't that noticeable until right up on it. I'll try to remember to get a pic

It should have been easy to unscrew the nuts using a 10mm (don't remember the exact size) socket wrench bit, and easy to put them back on with the bit. Don't even have to use the wrench - just turn the bit by hand.
