06 R53: Another Key Syncing Question

I know the key syncing questing has been asked and answered over and over. I've read all those posts and have not been able to resolve my problem.
I have an 06/R53 with the key that recharges in the ignition. I know that it's charging because I test it at Autozone, you know the testers I'm talking about. I am able to start the car, but the lock and unlock does not work, hasn't worked when I purchased the car back in September. I've gone through every thread here and where ever I've been able to find a method that will allow me to lock/unlock the car, and no, the the window roll down doesn't work either. Do you know if there are any fuses that might be attributed to this function? Any other suggestions? Hate to have to go the dealer to get this fixed. Any help will be much appreciated, thanx

It's possible that the remote radio receiver in the rear view mirror is no longer working. Some people have fixed their remote lock issue by replacing it.

Do you know of a way to test that unit?

Haven't seen any way to test it. Basically people tried swapping in a replacement from eBay as the next logical step after nothing else worked, and it worked for some of them.

fob working not related to programming the key fob? rkw mentioned the radio receiver, which falls into the category of non programming and I was asking if there was a way to test that unit?

Thanks, I will look into getting a unit to swap, not high on the things to get done list, just another thing to get done...
