Well, She's back on the road.
I sure am glad I found this site!!! Thanks for all the help......
New shocks and struts, 2 new axles, oil pan gasket, SC oil service, new hoses and seals for the cooling system, shock tower braces. I'm beat, sore and satisfied........:thumbsup: Now, I'm heading back out to tackle that seat latch......:mad::grin: |
Way to go Sir! Also working on my 2004 R53 with 160,000 miles, tackling many of the same items. Keep up the great work and post up a few photo's of your project and completion. Cheers!

How long the S/C service take you? Thanks. It's really hard to say how long it took. I disassembled the car, probably 2 hours or so, waited for the required parts, and reassembled. Probably another 2 hours or so. |

I found about 2 tablespoons of coolant under the car this morning..... Any leaking is too much for me so...... back apart she comes. Seems like every time I fix one leak, another one pops up...... |

It is possible that the coolant lines off the exchanger did not like being disturbed when you did the axle work or you did not get all the clamps tight on the new coolant hoses.
Just added a small amount of dye and I'll be checking it in the morning..... |
So far, I can see it running down the front of the engine coming from above the crank sensor.

That is a long way from the heat exchanger, it must be related to a hose/seal change.

That would be the flange that connects the water pump to the engine block.

I was afraid of that and I just changed it and both seals because it was leaking there before.... |
Got her apart tonight. Puddle of coolant under the water pump flange but no evidence of die I put in the system..... I'm stumped......

did you run it long enough with the dye for the thermostat to open and circulate it properly i know on my car it takes a long time at idle for the thermostat to open and circulate it thoroughly , that might be why the dye didnt get that far
